- Calcutta: The place to be mentioned in the first place in West Bengal is the capital of this state, Calcutta. Calcutta is the second largest city in India, known as ‘City of Joy’. - Santiniketan: This Santiniketan is a small town in Bolpur in Birbhum district. This place, known as Rabindranath Tagore’s own place. Here is the famous Rabindra Bharati University. In 1863 Rabindranath Tagore established a monastery at here and it became an initiative of Brahmo Samaj. The ‘Shantiniketan’ monastery is surrounded by the great people of Rabindranath Tagore, Nandalal Basu, Binodbihari Mukhopadhyay, and surrounded by great sculptures, statues, and paintings. Some of the big fairs of the state were held here, among them notable Baul songs, Palit Mela, Joydev fair, Basanta festival, Paus Mela etc.

- Mandarmani: One of the various beaches in India is Mandaramani. It is one of the most notable places in West Bengal. This sculpture is one of the attractions of West Bengal tourism. It is about 14 kilometers away from Chowlkhola, East Midnapore district. Many times Bengalies go away and spend the holiday on this beach. - Sundarban: Sundarban is a delta region of West Bengal. It is also known as the biggest delta of the world and the jungle of the big trees. There are many interesting places for the tourists. Matla river divides the reserve forests of the Sundarbans and the Forest Department of South 24 Parganas. Here are 5,400 square kilometers of mangrove forest, surrounded by Muriganga and Rayamangal. It is a biosphere reserve forest, which was recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site in 1987. The Sundarban Tiger Reserve Forest is recognized as the world’s highest tiger population.
